Our Story

The Nationwide Trophy Recycling Program started 40 years ago at a small town trophy shop in Poynette, Wisconsin. During that time our customers would drop off their old trophies in hopes that they could either reuse the parts or give the trophies directly to others who could use them.

In the 80s, the concept of paying it forward helped Total Awards & Promotions start the Someone Special Award program, given out to volunteers across Dane County and co-sponsored by United Way. We gave over one million dollars of plaques away over the decades to fulfill the need that nonprofits had of financially acknowledging volunteers.

In 2005 the Trophy recycling program was officially proposed and in 2007, the program went nationwide! We accepted trophies from around the country as well as donated free trophies nationwide.

Just recently we’ve acquired a new home for the program, only 5 doors down from Total Awards & Promotions. We are currently renovating the space for recycling to take place. In 2021, the program officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!
